In 2021, Virgin Atlantic will retire all of their eight B747-400's. They don't know when the first and the last one will leave the fleet.
Virgin Atlantic has eight Jumbo's flying to their destinations, which includes Orlando, New York and Bridgetown and some other destinations. They will replace the jumbo's with the Airbus A350-1000, which they will receive this summer.
Before they retire the B747's they retire their A340 fleet first. They will be replaced by the B787 and the A350. They follow other European airlines, such as KLM, British Airways and Lufthansa. Although it's not known when Lufthansa will retire their 747-400 fleet.
