TAP was the first Arline to have the A330Neo, but now also the first to have the A3321LR (long range). This plane makes it possible to fly low demand long-haul flights.

The 'normal' A321 has a range of 5.600 km, but the LR version has a range of 7,400 km. This means that TAP could start flights from Lissabon to almost the whole North-American east coast.

TAP is considering to open flights to New York, Boston, Montreal and Washington with the A321LR. They could also open flights to the east coast of South-America, like Fortaleza and Salvador. The first route for the A321LR will be Lissabon-Tel-Aviv. Passengers can fly in three different classes: 16 in businessclass, 48 in economy comfort and 107 in economyclass.
