Hello, thanks for joining me on this journey to South-America. I'll be flying Iberia's A350 from Madrid to Buenos Aires in business class. This will be my first flight on the A350 ever, and I'm looking forward to it.
As I arrived at the airport, I was really surprised about the airport. I already knew it was a very modern design, but I expected it to be different. I've seen pictures of the terminal before, but I could only imagine how it would look like in real life. Around every corner it surprised me again. It was quite busy at the time I was at the airport, but all the people are not in the way. Check-in and security were really quick, only the passport check was a bit slow. After all I thing this airport is really planes out and I would highly recommend you to fly from/to this airport.
I went to my gate and looked through the windows to all the moving planes. Finally my plane arrived. I looked to the raccoon style windows of the plane and couldn't look somewhere else. The wings of the plane, the engines, the nose, it was all so beautiful looking. I boarded the plane and walked to my seat.
I chose seat 6A. The seat was able to fully recline, so you have a flat bed. Iberia offers free WI-FI on their A350's, which is nice. I put my luggage away and began exploring the seat. They have a little lamp above the seat, some storage and a headphone to watch films. It's a shame that you're not allowed to take those headphones with you, they are so comfy. It took a little while to board all people, but it was no problem when you have a seat this nice.
We took off from Madrid airport with some lovely weather. The climb went really smooth, which is nice. About 20 minutes after takeoff, the flight attendants began serving some snacks and drinks. I chose some beer and a cookie. It tasted really good to be honest. The WI-FI was quite good onboard their plane. Not as good as I've experienced with some Middle-Eastern carriers, but its acceptable. After about one and a half hour in to the flight the crew began serving dinner. The dinner was some chicken, with vegetables and potatoes. The chicken was a bit dry and the vegetables were a bit tasteless. But the dessert was excellent. It was some vanilla ice with strawberries, it had just enough sugar to tast like it should taste.
After dinner I was very tired. So I decided to recline my seat and try to sleep a bit. The bed was really comfortable. The lights were dimmed and I slept 'like a block' we say in Dutch. It means: I slept very well and it was almost impossible to wake me up. About 2 house before landing I woke up. I felt very good and began watching a movie. The IFE was good, but has a limited selection of movies, music, tv and shows. The screen was touchscreen and was fast.About one hour before landing, the flight crew began serving breakfast. The breakfast was some hot bread, fried egg, a croissant and salad. The bread wasn't the best ever, but the croissant and fried egg were amazing.
At the decent into Buenos Aires was a bit bumpy, as there were a lot of clouds. The landing was decent, not the smoothest and not the hardest. We taxied to the terminal and got out of the plane. The airport was a bit different compared to Madrid airport. Madrid airport was very modern, but Buenos Aires wan't at all. It looked good, ut it was a bit more crowded.
